Does your facility have a qualified trainer? OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 requires that every operator of a powered industrial truck be trained, evaluated, and authorized by their employer. This package combines the Train-the-Trainer Certification Class with the lift-specific Base Materials for the HUBTEX FLUX, MAXX, and PHOENIX, so your trainer has both the qualifications and the tools to run an OSHA-compliant program.

The Train-the-Trainer class from Forklift University is designed specifically to qualify and train company trainers on the HUBTEX line of forklifts, including FLUX, MAXX, and PHOENIX lifts.
The class reviews all OSHA requirements, site hazards, and the process of implementing a high-quality forklift training program at your facility, using the Base Materials included in this package.

Each trainer who completes the class receives a hard plastic trainer certification card.
OSHA does not require a specific card or third-party certification for trainers. However, the employer is legally responsible for making sure any trainer has the knowledge, training, and experience needed to train and evaluate operators. This class and card help document that your trainer is qualified.

- 1910.178(l)(2)(i)Trainees may operate a powered industrial truck only:
- 1910.178(l)(2)(i)(A)Under the direct supervision of persons who have the knowledge, training, and experience to train operators and evaluate their competence; and
- 1910.178(l)(2)(i)(B)Where such operation does not endanger the trainee or other employees.
- 1910.178(l)(2)(ii)Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive computer learning, video tape, written material), practical training (demonstrations performed by the trainer and practical exercises performed by the trainee), and evaluation of the operator's performance in the workplace.
- 1910.178(l)(2)(iii)All operator training and evaluation shall be conducted by persons who have the knowledge, training, and experience to train powered industrial truck operators and evaluate their competence.
- 1910.178(l)(3)Training program content. Powered industrial truck operators shall receive initial training in the following topics, except in topics that the employer can demonstrate are not applicable to the safe operation of the truck in the employer's workplace.
